Job Summary

In addition to performing linguistic and technical validation of materials received back from translation vendors, team members will also serve as resources for translators at the translation vendors in terms of meaning of technical terms and other product-specific issues. Team members will also be involved with maintaining terminology data bases and style guides; performing some localization engineering activities; and, on occasion, performing ad hoc or quick-turnaround translations.

 

Responsibilities

• Working with localization teams to adapt material to meet high linguistic quality and cultural requirements.
• Providing high quality and efficient translation and validation of the product and documentation.
• Answering questions from translation vendors regarding linguistic and technical issues of localization projects.
• Assisting in defining new terminologies for new products and features, and incorporating them into terminology databases.
• Maintaining product specific and content specific style guides for internal and external use.
• Completing validation reports on the linguistic, market, and technical readiness of the materials being translated.
• Producing ad hoc translations, translation validation and quality assessment.

필요 기술과 전문 분야

Minimum / Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree related to the subjects, such as English, Engineering, or Mathematics major
• Self-starter and learner
• English skills: TOEIC score of 900 (or equivalent on another test, TOEFL)
• Advanced communication skills in English and Korean (both verbal and reading/writing)
• High level translation and translation validation skills.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with IT product and documentation localization.
• Deep knowledge of localization guidelines, including Microsoft Style Guide and terminologies.
• Extensive product knowledge to perform technical validation for product localization.
• Experience with various localization tools such as TRADOS, memoQ and other CAT tools.
